Bids, birdies and beats: Online auction opens ahead of St. Jude JAM concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Annual concert tees off week-long events for FedEx St. Jude Championship

Memphis, Tennessee, Aug. 3, 2022

Today through August 10, bidding is open for an online auction affiliated with a special concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®: the St. Jude JAM presented by Delta Dental of Tennessee and HH Global. The concert event takes place at 5.30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, August 10, at the Memphis Botanic Garden and tees off a week of events held during the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where 125 of the world’s best PGA Tour golfers will come to Memphis to compete for the FedEx Cup.

The auction offers bidders an opportunity to help St. Jude kids by donating to its mission: Finding cures. Saving children®. Supporters can bid on trips to Italy, Mexico, the Gulf Coast and the Great Smoky Mountains, a St. Jude travel set from Tumi®, and a VIP NASCAR experience with athlete Michael Waltrip at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The online auction concludes at 8:30 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, August 10.

The St. Jude JAM will also feature in-person bidding for several unique live auction items such as tickets to the Masters Golf Tournament, Super Bowl LVII & Phoenix Open, a 7-Night Oceanfront Stay at The Beach Villas at Nanuku Resort in Fiji, and a vacation to Beaver Creek, Colorado for the St. Jude Elevation 8080 event.

One sought-after item is a replica 1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster built by FedEx pilots. The annual car build has become a tradition, raising nearly $800,000 for St. Jude since 2015. Because of support from events like the St. Jude JAM, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food so they can focus on helping their child live.

“The St. Jude JAM and auction are an exciting part of the week-long FedEx St. Jude Championship festivities, which do so much to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Richard C. Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “The generosity of our donors, partners and event and auction participants helps advance the ongoing six-year $12.9 billion St. Jude strategic plan that more than triples global investments to help more of the 400,000 kids around the world with cancer each year.”

This year’s St. Jude JAM will feature performances by Ed Roland, frontman & chief songwriter of Collective Soul; Scott Stapp, founding member of Creed; and Wally Palmer lead singer and founding member of The Romantics, all backed by longtime St. Jude supporter and St. Jude JAM house band Sixwire.
