OUR VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Meet St. Jude volunteer Shanda
The children of St. Jude is the reason why I do it. If we can do anything to help these children and their families get through the biggest fight of their life, I’m all for it.

In late summer of 2020, the COVID-19 virus was ramping up, and people across the country were suddenly being furloughed or let go from their jobs. At the same time, Jessica McCaffrey, Phoenix regional director, and Erica Thompson, Las Vegas regional director, found themselves needing extra hands at their regional offices for specialized assignments, like marketing, public relations or outbound calls. Why volunteer?
Volunteers around the country, on average, spend 50 hours per year donating their time to the greater good. Studies have shown that volunteerism improves health by strengthening the body, improving mood, and lessening stress. Additionally, volunteering can increase self-esteem, enhance various skills and expand career paths.

Let's make a difference. Together.
St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Volunteers come from all walks of life and live all over the country, donating their time and talents to support St. Jude. Even when we're apart, your support keeps us together. Please consider volunteering to help us continue our lifesaving mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®
