St. Jude Teen Formal creates enchanted evening for patients and guests

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® rolled out the red carpet for more than 50 teens, including patients and their guests, for the 2025 St. Jude Teen Formal on Thursday, May 1.

The “Garden of Dreams” theme lent itself to an elegant night celebrating one of the most important milestones of teenage life. In the weeks leading up to the formal, patients selected dresses and tuxedos at an on-campus event. On the day, party goers got ready at the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion, a site that honors the impact of supporters on St. Jude families. Next up was a limousine ride through downtown city streets. Back on campus, the Teen Formal kicked off with attendees being cheered on by an eager group of family, friends and St. Jude staff members at the Domino’s Event Center. The evening included dinner, dancing and DJ entertainment.

Teen Formal is one of several events coordinated by St. Jude to provide patients a sense of normalcy by marking important moments they may otherwise have missed while undergoing treatment for cancer or other life-threatening diseases.

The following day, 45 high school seniors completed another rite of passage when they were honored at the St. Jude School Program’s annual high school commencement.

Special thanks to St. Jude corporate partners and supporters who helped make the Teen Formal a special evening for St. Jude patients, including Carnival Cruise Line, Wingstop, J.Crew Factory, Shaw Floors, Five Below, Claire’s, My SALON Suite, Merle Norman & More, Ripley, MS, Dillard’s, David’s Bridal, Lancôme, Crocs, American Tuxedo, Jack Black, Magnolia Soap and Bath Co., Crumbl and Allure Suits & Tuxedos.
