We are so privileged at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help so many incredible children and their families. To hear their stories and witness their courage is most humbling.
I recently had the honor of talking to supporters of St. Jude alongside a remarkable young lady who is a brain tumor patient at St. Jude. Marley, who is 10, has big dreams, with her sights set on one day being the Chief Executive Officer of a large company.
It was such a pleasure to invite Marley to visit my office, where she had the chance to sit at my desk and envision herself as the future CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude. And it wouldn’t surprise me at all if one day that office really is hers.
We are so grateful to Marley and her family, who are among the many St. Jude patients and families who are willing to share their own stories with people all over the country. Their hope and compassion is truly an inspiration to us all.
We can pay tribute to these families and to our own loved ones through the St. Jude Tributes program. Consider sending an ecard to tell your parents how much they mean to you. Perhaps you would like to dedicate your birthday to St. Jude or honor someone with a donation. Not only will you show how much you care, you will be helping St. Jude care for kids, like Marley, battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
And finally, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the St. Jude Heroes who participated in last month’s St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Nashville and the South Beach Triathlon in Florida, as well as our friends in the finance community for their Invest in Hope event in Boston. We also welcomed many of our corporate partners to the St. Jude campus during our annual Partner Summit, and are so grateful for their support through campaigns such as St. Jude Thanks and Giving®. These are just a few of the many events held recently across the country to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude — events that wouldn’t happen without your dedication and commitment.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the kids of St. Jude.
You, too, can make a difference for St. Jude kids.
