Five things to know about your St. Jude donation

Your donation makes a difference for St. Jude kids

Unlike other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors. Thanks to you, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Learn more about how St. Jude uses your tax-deductible donation and the benefits of giving to our hospital.

It will cost approximately $1 billion to operate St. Jude this year and the majority of that must come from generous donors.

St. Jude is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

Only 12 percent of the money to operate the hospital comes from insurance recoveries. This is vastly different than most other hospitals that can generate more than 90 percent of their revenues from insurance recoveries and other sources.

You can have your donation deducted directly from your paycheck. Just present our pledge form to your employer.

For the past seven years, 82 cents of every dollar received has gone to support the treatment, research and future needs of St. Jude.

We're dedicated to providing the best care for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. But we need your help to make sure we can keep providing world-class care at no cost to our patients.
