Welcome to the 2023 MidSouth Pharmacy Residents Conference!  

We are delighted that you would join us for this – the 14th annual MidSouth Pharmacy Residents Conference. We wish for this to be a memorable meeting during which new knowledge and approaches to training and practice are shared, and in which professional relationships are begun and enhanced. The opportunity to present the results of your work to an audience of peers is an important part of our professional collaboration and is foundational in the propagation of meaningful knowledge. The occasion of this meeting also draws individuals together who might not otherwise have an opportunity to interact. 

We are excited this year to have as our keynote speaker:  Dr. Paul Walker. Dr. Walker has held multiple high level leadership roles in academia and health-system pharmacy and is the current President of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  We are confident that Dr. Walker will inspire all of us to develop professionally and personally.

Congratulations to you, Residents, who have invested so much of yourselves to develop a proposal, design methods, collect and analyze data, form conclusions and generate recommendations. Many thanks go to Preceptors and Program Directors who have served as project advisors and mentors, and who have provided encouragement and guidance to these residents in this work.

A big thank you also goes to the many people who have contributed to the formation and continuation of this conference. The professional collegiality of the “pharmacy community” is remarkable, and the support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is acknowledged and much appreciated!
