ST. JUDE NORTH TEXAS BICYCLE RALLY

 
 

We are thrilled to be returning to The Terrace in the Town of Westlake as our start/finish for the St. Jude North Texas Bicycle Rally. It was a great venue which offered us an amazing backdrop for our celebration village with great food, music and fun. We did make some changes to the routes, so be sure to check out the route links

This event is a one-day biking experience that will take participants through scenic routes in the rolling hills of Tarrant County, with 20+ mile, 40+ mile and 50+ mile routes.

Participants who raise $500 or more will receive an official St. Jude branded cycling jersey. Invite friends and family to donate, cheer you on or join you as you ride. Have fun, be active and help us raise funds for the kids of St. Jude.

All participants must be 18 years or older.

  1. Safety is our number one priority.  Please review the information below before rolling out with us:

    Ride Information:

    • The minimum age to ride is 18.
    • There is NO fundraising minimum, but is encouraged. If you raise $500 then you qualify to receive a St. Jude branded cycling jersey.
    • We ride rain or shine. In the event of lightning or other dangerous conditions, we will delay the event until conditions improve.
    • Helmets must be worn at all times- no exceptions.
    • The route is not closed to traffic, so cyclists need to exercise caution at all times and obey all rules of the road.
    • Each cyclists is also responsible for verifying that the intersection is clear before riding through it.
    • Communicate well in advance with gestures and words when passing, stopping, slowing, car back, gravel, tracks, etc.
    • Be visible, day and night. Use plenty of lights and reflectors and wear bright clothing.
    • Carry your phone with emergency information available.
      • Your wristband also has an emergency number to call for roadside assistance: (469) 213-7173.
    • Be prepared; hydration, nutrition and proper bicycle tools.
    • This is a fun ride, not a race.

    SAG vehicles:
    Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles provide transportation to riders in need.  These vehicles will not stop to make bike repairs, but they can transport cyclist to the next rest stop. SAG vehicles only move a cyclist forward along the route.

    To signal a SAG vehicle driver, follow these steps:

    • Move safely all-the-way off the road and well out of the path of other riders.
    • Stand near your bike.
    • Remove your helmet and wave it at the SAG vehicle.

    SAG vehicles will pick you up, as room permits, and move you to the next rest stop. 

    Bike Medics:

    • These trained, professional medical personnel ride the route, and are available to help all participants. Each rest stop is also fully equipped with first aid and basic medical supplies.
  2. Events are more rewarding when shared with others. Join or form a team to help raise awareness for the kids of St. JudeThanks to fundraisers like you, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

    Why is the team program important?

    • Excite and engage family/friends by providing opportunities to participate in an inspiring community event and join a larger nationwide movement to fight childhood cancer.
    • Collectively showcase your generous spirit within our local community, while also aligning with an organization internationally-known for its research and treatment success.
    • Offers employees a chance to bond outside the office.
    • Unite with other local companies who have committed to ending childhood cancer.

    Team incentives:
    Teams that raise $5,000+ more by Oct. 1, will be given the opportunity to set up a tent in the post event area and earn a Top Fundraising Team banner to be displayed at your tent.

    • Team photo opportunity available.
    • Team members to also receive VIP parking passes.

    For teams larger than 20 riders by Oct. 1, St. Jude will host on-site packet pick-up a location of your choice.

    • Team members to also receive VIP parking passes.

    Teams larger than 10 riders recruited by Oct. 1, will have the opportunity to display their team banner at the Start Line. (Should the team not have a banner, St. Jude will provide one complimentary.)

    • Team members to also receive VIP parking passes.
  3. Register. Raise. Ride.

    Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from generous donors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Every dollar makes a difference.

    All participants will receive a personalized fundraising page, fundraising tips and the chance to earn prizes based on the amount raise.

    • For the first 50 people that register, you will earn St. Jude branded socks.
    • For the first 50 people that raise $100, receive St. Jude branded arm sleeves.
    • For the first 50 people that raise $250, receive St. Jude branded water bottle.
    • Individuals who raise $500 or more will receive a St. Jude branded cycling jersey. Raise that amount by Sept. 1, and you will receive and wear it on event day
    • Top fundraiser will receive a new bicycle helmet or cycling shoes courtesy of our sponsor and complimentary registration for the following year.
  4. Packet Pickup information

    Information will be available in 2022. 

    We’re hoping that everyone coming to the St. Jude North Texas Bicycle Rally that wanted the COVID19 vaccine has been able to take advantage of available vaccines. Whatever your vaccine status is, it’s recommended that everyone wear masks while indoors including during packet pick-up. You will be able to pick up for others on your team and/or company.  If you are unable to attend any of these locations, we will still be able to pick up your bib, wristband and event shirt on site.
