Golf and rock music fans came together to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the sixth annual Scott Medlock – Robby Krieger St. Jude Invitational & All-Star Concert August 29.

This year’s event raised more than $507,000 to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. Created by Robby Krieger of The Doors, and Scott Medlock, a noted sports artist, the golf tournament and concert has raised more than $1.9 million for St. Jude in its history.

More than 200 golfers and 800 total guests attended this year’s event, held for the first time at the North Ranch Country Club, in Thousand Oaks, California.

Because of events like this, families at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

A day of golf was followed the 19th Hole festivities, which included a live auction and tastings from various local restaurants. The evening concluded with the All-Star Concert, featuring performances by Krieger; Alex Lifeson of Rush; Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi; Orianthi, who performed with Michael Jackson; Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains; Danny Seraphine of Chicago/CTA; David Sikes of Boston and many more.

Sponsors for the event included: Microsemi, Genesis, Monster Energy, Hyatt Residence Club, Applied Merchant Systems, Jakks Pacific and ACRA Aerospace.
