About the program
The Global Pediatric Medicine Fellowship prepares physicians to expand access to high-quality, evidence-based care for children facing catastrophic hematologic and oncologic illnesses across the world.
Fellows gain clinical, leadership, research, and policy expertise that enables them to partner with global institutions, build sustainable healthcare capacity, and drive meaningful progress toward health equity for children everywhere.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants will have:
- Completed a fellowship program in one of the following areas:
- Pediatric hematology and/or oncology
- Pediatric surgery
- Pediatric infectious diseases
- Pediatric intensive care
- Completed USMLE steps 1,2, and 3
- Eligibility for an H-1 visa (if applicable)

Curriculum overview
In this one-year program, Global Pediatric Medicine fellows will:
- Gain experience in all aspects of patient care in both the outpatient and inpatient setting in a specialty-specific area
- Work with and learn from nationally and internationally recognized clinical and basic science investigators within Global Pediatric Medicine and throughout St. Jude
- Conduct global research in the specialty-specific are of clinical training
