St. Jude offers unique opportunities for residents from American Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved residency and fellowship programs to select two to four-week electives in a variety of specialties involving caring for children with malignancies, hematologic disorders, infectious diseases or selected immunogenetic disorders. Residents and Fellows must be in good standing and have the approval of their program director and home institution for an elective at St. Jude. An affiliation agreement will be executed between St. Jude and the home institution, and the resident/fellow will not receive any compensation from St. Jude for the elective rotation. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis within designated cycles, with placement dependent on space availability and program capacity. Because some time periods are more competitive than others, early submission helps maximize the likelihood of securing preferred rotation dates.
