The REACH initiative is a quality improvement project through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. REACH stands for Regional Pediatric Education and Assistance Collaborative for Hospice Nurses. The project’s goal is to provide all pediatric hospice nurses in Tennessee with access to expert pediatric-specific training and support. This will empower them to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to children and their families.
Through a partnership with Project ECHO® , REACH offers monthly tele-educational sessions led by pediatric palliative care and hospice medicine experts. The 90-minute sessions include a didactic presentation followed by an interactive case-based discussion and conclude with a brief mindfulness activity. Didactic topics are driven by hospice nurse recommendations. Sessions are held on the third Thursday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. CST.
