Each year, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital hosts seminars and symposia that bring together researchers from across a range of scientific disciplines. Through the Academic Programs Office, we provide travel support to a limited number of exceptional advanced PhD students whose research aligns with our scientific priorities and who are considering a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude.
Travel support is awarded through a competitive selection process. Recipients will have the opportunity to attend a St. Jude seminar or symposium, present their research, engage with St. Jude faculty and scientists, and explore postdoctoral and research opportunities at the institution.
Faculty may select the link below to nominate one (or more) PhD candidate(s) to be invited to apply for the NGSS. Nominations must be received by mid-October in the year prior to the symposium.
Eligibility
- Currently pursuing a PhD at a U.S. institution
- Considering a postdoctoral fellowship as their next career step
- Complete the Interest Form to be considered for future St. Jude seminars and symposia. When a relevant event opens for abstract submissions, we will invite eligible students whose research aligns with the scientific focus and who are nearing graduation to apply. Applicants will be asked to submit an abstract, CV, and letter of reference for consideration.
