Ways to donate to childhood cancer research

There are great research institutions, great hospitals and great charities — St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is all three.
Making a donation for childhood cancer research and treatment not only helps St. Jude make breakthroughs, but also touches the lives of children and their families. Donations to St. Jude impact thousands of children each year and help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving vehicle that can provide a tax benefit and allow you to recommend grants to charities of your choice over time. It also gives donors the flexibility to choose how much and how often they give to St. Jude, and it allows donors' money in a DAF to grow tax-free.
Our federal tax ID number is 62-0646012
When writing or revising a will, planning for retirement or purchasing a life insurance policy, consider giving to St. Jude to help our mission of researching childhood cancer and saving children. You can give through individual retirement accounts (IRAs), gift annuities, stocks, life insurance, bequests, real estate and more. Federal and military employees can give through the Combined Federal Campaign each year. Our charity code is #10560.
Many companies have programs that support employee giving. You can host a fundraiser, give through payroll deduction or see if your employer will match gifts to St. Jude, which can double your childhood cancer donation for research and treatment.
Donate cars, trailers, boats and more through Charitable Adult Rides and Services (CARS), a nonprofit organization that helps other 501(c)(3)s process these types of gifts and donations.
You can help give kids like Bella the chance to grow up when you make a donation to St. Jude for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Donation FAQs
-
It will cost approximately $1 billion to operate St. Jude this year and the majority of that must come from generous donors. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent when we opened to more than 80 percent today.
And, no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude — not for the cost of treatment, travel, housing and food so the family can focus on helping their child live and fighting pediatric cancer or another life-threatening disease.
-
For the past seven years, 82 cents of every dollar received has gone to support the treatment, research and future needs of St. Jude.
The majority of funds needed to operate and sustain St. Jude must be raised from generous donors. In addition, we also receive some revenue from insurance recoveries, research grant funding and returns on our investments.
When you look at total revenue, ALSAC and St. Jude are proud that 82 cents of every dollar received has gone to support patients and research at St. Jude today and in the future. Thirteen cents of every dollar supports fundraising efforts, such as events like the national St. Jude Walk/Run and advertising to help spread awareness of our lifesaving mission. Five cents of every dollar supports administration costs.

Thank you for your interest, but St. Jude does not have a program to collect aluminum can tabs. If you wish, you may recycle your tabs locally and donate proceeds to St. Jude.
Many of our patients and their families stay at our local Ronald McDonald House here in Memphis, and Ronald McDonald House Charities collect aluminum can tabs. We recommend contacting your local Ronald McDonald House for more information.
