In December 2014, Kaylee developed headaches and was often tired. When tests revealed she suffered from a brain tumor, her family was devastated.
She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which was identified as a medulloblastoma. Kaylee’s family turned to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for her continuing care.
At St. Jude, Kaylee’s treatment has included radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Kaylee’s family is grateful for everything St. Jude has provided for them.
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
“Kaylee amazes us,” her mother said. “She’s smiling every day. She keeps us going.”
Kaylee amazes us. She’s smiling every day. She keeps us going.
Kaylee misses her dog and the mountains back home, where her family loves to go hiking, camping and biking together. When she’s inpatient at St. Jude, she loves to play the jukebox and dance with her parents and sister.
“She has fun,” Jennifer said. “She doesn’t complain about anything at all.” Kaylee is also very artistic and loves to draw.
