Enjoy a night filled with a limo ride, world class music entertainment from a nationally known DJ, performers, amazing food, lots of photos, and incredible take-home prizes. 

The teen formal is open to patients and one guest. All patients and guests must be between the ages of 15 and 19 years old and currently enrolled in high school.  The event will be held in the Domino’s Event Center located on campus at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We hope to see you there!

DJ Irie at the St. Jude Teen Formal

  1. Complete your look! We offer complimentary nail, make-up and hair styling services for patients as well as their guest for this special night. You can pick any two services you like. Make sure when registering, you indicate that you would like to participate in salon services. Salon services will be available prior to formal inside the Pavilion. Follow the instructions on how to reserve a time slot when registering.

    Are you in need of the perfect dress for formal? You are welcome to attend our Dress Fest event hosted on the St. Jude campus. This event is open to patients as well as their guest who would like to “shop” from our selection of new dresses, jewelry and bags. Come check it out! Please indicate on your registration whether or not you would like to attend.

    *Formal attire is encouraged for the night of formal.

  3. Monday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 17
    10:00 am - 1:00 pm

    Are you looking for a tux for the special event? You are invited to attend our Tux Fest event in our teen room at St. Jude in the Patient Care Center building. This event is open to patients and their guest who would like to be measured for a tuxedo rental. You will be able to pick out the style as well as what color tux you like best from a catalogue. Your customized tux will be available for pick up on the day of formal. Please indicate on your registration whether or not you would like to attend.

    *Formal attire is encouraged for the night of formal.

  4. We really want you to wear something that you love and feel comfortable in. Formal is a memorable night and it our hope that you will be able to show your individual style. Because this is also a hospital event, there will be a dress code that participants should follow when picking their outfit.

    Dress code basics for those wearing dresses are as follows:

    • Formal attire is highly encouraged.
    • Dresses should not be shorter than mid-thigh (about 4 inches from the top of your knee cap) including slits for longer dresses.
    • Necklines should not be lower than 5 inches from the base of the neck.
    • Clothing that displays any slogans or symbols that depict tobacco, alcohol, drugs, sexually suggestive, or offensive messages are not permitted.
    • Dresses should cover midriff.
    • Cut outs should be reserved to shoulders only.

    Dress code basics for those not wearing dresses are as follows:

    • Formal attire is highly encouraged
    • Long pants are required for this event. No shorts please.
    • Shirts must be worn at all times.
    • Clothing with any slogans or symbols that depict tobacco, alcohol, drugs, sexually suggestive, or offensive messages are not permitted.
    • Clothing should not identify oneself as part of a group/organization/gang.

    If you have questions, feel free to ask your child life specialist, dress fest, or tux fest volunteer.
