NAPAAC Scientific Symposium

Bone Marrow Failure and Myelodysplastic Syndromes: From Discovery to Future Strategies

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN
Virtual option available

About the symposium

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will host the Scientific Symposium on Bone Marrow Failure and Myelodysplastic Syndromes: From Discovery to Future Strategies on October 25–27, 2026, in partnership with the North American Pediatric Aplastic Anemia Consortium (NAPAAC). NAPAAC is a research consortium established in 2011 to advance research and therapies in pediatric bone marrow failure and myelodysplastic syndromes.

Bone marrow failure (BMF) disorders and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) represent over 20 disease entities with at least 150 causative genes. Despite rapid progress in genetic diagnostics, developing targeted therapies and deploying effective surveillance remain a critical challenge.

This symposium brings together >60 academic centers who are members of the NAPAAC consortium. In addition, global leaders in bone marrow failure from Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia will share discoveries and clinical insights on genetics, transplantation, gene therapy, predisposition syndromes, and emerging treatment strategies.

Abstracts

NAPAAC Scientific Symposium welcomes abstract submissions from all trainees and established investigators working on bone marrow failure and myelodysplastic syndromes, and related fields. You must be registered for the symposium as an in-person attendee to submit an abstract.

Abstract submission deadline: August 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
Notification of Decision: August 26, 2026.

Top scoring abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. Limited number of awards to cover the hotel accommodation will be granted to the authors of the highest-scoring abstracts, as determined following the review by the scientific committee.

Who should attend

CME/continuing medical education credits are offered. The event is open to hematologists, oncologists, hematopathologists, transplant specialists, advanced practice providers, scientists and trainees with an interest in advancing care and treatment of patients with bone marrow failure and myelodysplastic syndromes.
