What you can expect at 2018 St. Jude Tri Delta Celebration

  • Celebrate Tri Delta’s incredible fundraising milestones for St. Jude.
  • Meet Tri Delta sisters from all across the nation.
  • Get immersed in the St. Jude mission by going on a hospital tour and listening to guest speakers from the hospital and patient families.
  • Enjoy a Memphis experience, including a tour of the National Civil Rights Museum.

Committing to the SJTDC Experience

  1. ALSAC/St. Jude is investing in you as a Tri Delta leader to bring the mission of St. Jude to your campus communities. By registering, you’ve committed to attending St. Jude Tri Delta Celebration in its entirety. Students may not skip sessions and should not commit to attending unless they are able to completely confirm their availability for July 27 – 29 (including travel time required).

  2. It is both Tri Delta and ALSAC/St. Jude's expectation that St. Jude Tri Delta Celebration is substance and alcohol-free. You will be asked to sign the standards policy at registration.

  3. You will be expected to attend all sessions to ensure you experience the very best of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Aside from approved off-site group activities, we ask that you remain on the hotel and convention center property. This ensures your safety in downtown Memphis.

  4. Students should not plan to stay in Memphis prior to or following the seminar. Written approval from a parent/guardian to visit family in the Memphis area may be granted with prior approval.

 

Preparing for SJTDC

  1. Be sure to pack...

    • legal ID and travel itinerary
    • credit/debit card (required for hotel incidentals)
    • cell phone and charger
    • reusable water bottle
    • money for Tri Delta Shop & St. Jude Gift Shop
  2. Friday:

    Tri Delta attire

    Wear comfortable yet presentable clothing, such as jeans or appropriate length shorts.

    Wear a Tri Delta shirt to show off your pride while touring the hospital. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress for hot temperatures (high 80s to mid 90s) outside, but inside is briskly air-conditioned (sweater/light jackets encouraged).

    Saturday morning:

    Tri Delta attire

    Business attire in shades of pastel. Remember to pack your Tri Delta badge.

    Saturday afternoon:

    Tri Delta attire

    Blue and gold casual attire. Jeans are welcome.

    Sunday:

    Tri Delta attire

    Travel attire. Comfy and cute!

 

 

Travel and hotel reminders

  1.  A St. Jude representative attending SJTDC will be your point of contact during the seminar. Save their contact info handy in case any travel issues or questions arise.

    If you're flying...

    • plan ahead for travel to/from your home airport.
    • ensure you have your ticketed flight itinerary, provided by your St. Jude Representative (should be received by July 1).
    • we recommend students plan to pack a carry on to avoid baggage fees. We do not cover baggage fees.
    • uniformed staff with St. Jude signs will greet you at baggage claim upon arrival.

    If you're driving...

    • gas will be reimbursed by your St. Jude Representative. 
    • parking will be covered by St. Jude at the Memphis Cook Convention Center.
  2. Students must agree to stay at the seminar at all times and may not leave the lobbies of the Memphis Cook Convention Center or the Sheraton at any time. This policy also applies to students who live locally.

    Arrival: 

    • Please plan to arrive no later than noon on Friday, July 27. 
    • Upon arrival, please head to registration on the second floor of the Sheraton Hotel. Signs will direct you to the Heritage room.

    Departure:

    • Please plan to depart immediately following the seminar (by noon on Sunday, July 29).
    • Students may not prolong their trip in Memphis without expressed authorization from parent/guardian.
    • All scheduled meals are provided by St. Jude during the seminar.
    • All dietary restrictions/allergies should be provided to your St. Jude Representative during registration.
    • Students/guests are responsible for meal or other expenses incurred during travel or additional drinks/snacks not scheduled during the seminar.
    • Hotel accommodations at the Sheraton Memphis are provided by St. Jude during the seminar.
    • Important reminder: You will be asked to provide a debit or credit card for incidentals when you check into your hotel. Fund holds may be applied to debit cards by the hotel, so credit cards are recommended.
    • Keep the door to your hotel room locked at all times.
    • When you leave your hotel room, pull the door completely closed behind you, and check to ensure it has locked. 
    • Do not open the door for strangers.
    • Do not leave cash, expensive electronics or jewelry laying around the room.
