Thank you for joining us on Saturday, May 4, 2024 for the 22nd annual FedEx St. Jude Angels & Stars Gala at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida. Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, entertainment, a silent auction, Give to Live and a memorable St. Jude patient speaker, all to help advance the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.®

All proceeds from this event benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.

For more information on becoming a sponsor at next year's event, contact Chad Buschell at chad.buschell@alsac.stjude.org.

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered largely incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

Meet Mayela

In 2018, Mayela was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, or AML. In AML, white blood cells, produced in bone marrow, are abnormal and do not become healthy cells. These abnormal cells crowd out the normal ones so that the patient’s body has a harder time fighting off infection.

Doctors in Puerto Rico referred Mayela to St. Jude where she underwent a bone marrow transplant in August 2018, with her dad serving as her donor.

“I was full of joy and emotion, and grateful for St. Jude,” Angel said about being his daughter’s donor.

St. Jude stories from Florida

Every dollar makes a difference*

  1. One red wagon

Wagons are the preferred mode of travel through the halls of the hospital and around campus for our younger patients.

    Donate $100

  2. One red blood cell transfusion

Children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening diseases often need transfusions.

    Donate $250

  3. One hour of physical therapy

Physical therapy is provided to patients because children with life-threatening diseases like cancer may develop developmental, cognitive or physical impairments as a result of their illnesses and their treatments.

    Donate $500

  4. Parent necessities for 20 patient families

Parents who bring their children to St. Jude often leave home in a hurry and forget to pack day-to-day necessities such as shampoos, razors, deodorant, toothbrushes and lotion. At Tri Delta Place, our short-term housing facility, parents can obtain these essentials free of charge.

    Donate $1,000

  5. An ultrasound study for a St. Jude patient

An ultrasound study is among the diagnostic imaging tests that doctors use to diagnose and monitor disease and treatment.

    Donate $2,500

  6. Daily room rate of the ICU

The Intensive Care Unit at St. Jude has twice been recognized with the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence given by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In 2009, the St. Jude ICU became Tennessee’s first ICU to win the honor.

    Donate $5,000
