What is an online auction?

A St. Jude online auction is a fundraising event that occurs on an online auction platform such as Charitybuzz and Member for a Day, where you can bid on items ranging from luxury travel packages to signed guitars to meet-and-greets with celebrities and much more. Explore the links below for current online auctions, and place your bid knowing that the proceeds will benefit the kids of St. Jude.

How does your bid help the kids of St. Jude?

When you place a winning bid on an online auction platform benefitting St. Jude, all proceeds, less fees, will help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live. 

 
 

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered largely incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

How do charity auctions work?

Auction items are donated and listed online for bidding. Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions about how to participate in online auctions. If your question isn’t listed, visit the Charitybuzz FAQs or email us at auction@alsac.stjude.org

 
  1. "Donate" icon
     

    Your contribution may be tax-deductible if your payment for the auction item exceeds its estimated fair market value. Your receipt will include the estimated fair market value of your item or experience. This is for informational purposes only; please consult with your tax professional.

     
     
  2. "Money" icon
     

    All net proceeds from online auctions, less fees, are granted to St. Jude. The net to St. Jude is approximately 80% of gross proceeds.

     
     
  3. "Host Event" icon
     

    Visit the St. Jude Auction page and register for an account. Once you have completed registration, simply click “Bid” and enter your bid amount to participate. Once you have clicked “Confirm," you have successfully bid on the item.
