Group Opportunities

St. Jude welcomes small groups, including religious groups,
non-profits and other organizations, to volunteer at our hospital in Memphis.

COVID-19 Notice to Volunteers

For the safety of our patients and families, we are not accepting applications for new volunteers at this time.

We hope to open applications in early 2022.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

More than a thousand volunteers donate their time to our patients and their families each year.

We welcome groups of 2 to 10 individuals for one-time volunteer projects. In most cases, we limit group size to 10 individuals. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate.

We work with many groups, including local businesses, religious groups, non-profits, and other organizations who share their time and talents with our patient families while participating in a meaningful team-building experience.

If you have specific questions about group volunteer opportunities at St. Jude, read our Hospital Volunteer FAQs or contact volunteers@stjude.org.

All the volunteers are so kind and so giving. They are always smiling and ready to assist. I’m grateful for all that they have done so selflessly for our family! I hope the know how important they are and what a difference they made and continue to make to not only our family, but all the families of St Jude.

Volunteer as a Group in the Hospital Community Garden

Group volunteers in the garden support St. Jude through growing fresh fruits and vegetables for our Kay Kafe cafeteria. We are able to accept groups up to 25 volunteers in the St. Jude Garden.

Volunteer as a Group in Patient Housing

We invite groups to volunteer at Tri Delta Place and Target House, our short- and long-term housing facilities for our patient families. Previous volunteer-hosted events at these “homes away from home” include hosting a dinner, organizing a game or craft night, and decorating cookies. We welcome your ideas and are happy to provide suggestions.
