The Biostatistics Internship offers a motivated individual an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the Department of Biostatistics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Interns will work side-by-side with professionals on projects in a professional environment to gain insight and experience into the world of statistical and analysis.

The Department of Chemical Biology & Therapeutics offers summer research internships for undergraduate and graduate students to work on innovative solutions for rare pediatric diseases. Interns gain access to advanced biotech/pharma technologies, professional networking opportunities, and a stimulating environment to develop skills for careers at the chemistry-biology interface.

CBT graduate level opportunities:

Interns in the Child Life Department work closely with experienced child life specialists and families coping with chronic illness. The 16-week internship includes clinical rotations and educational seminars and is designed for college seniors, college graduates and master's students with backgrounds in child development, education, psychology or related fields.  

The St. Jude Children’s Research Healthcare Administration Graduate Internship is a cohort model internship designed to offer motivated graduate students the opportunity to spend a summer placement with the Strategic Planning & Decision Support Office and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The internship is open to graduate students seeking an MBA, MHA, or similar graduate degree.   

The Internal Audit Internship offers a motivated individual an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the Internal Audit department at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Interns will work side-by-side with professionals on projects in a professional environment to gain insight and experience in the world of Internal Audit.

The Office of Legal Services offers immersive legal internships for second- and third-year law students. Interns work closely with in-house and outside counsel on substantive projects in many aspects of the law, with excellent mentoring, opportunities and client interactions.

Legal Operations interns will primarily assist the Legal Operations team by conducting research, analyzing data, developing and implementing process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and generally supporting initiatives aimed at optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of Legal Services at St. Jude. Legal Operations Internships is open to undergraduate, graduate, and law students.   

This six-month, 1040-hour Music Therapy Internship program allows interns to work beside music therapists, supporting patients and families in the pediatric hematology/oncology setting. Senior in college or completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Music Therapy are encouraged to apply.

The renowned Pediatric Oncology Education (POE) Program offers funded summer internships in laboratory or clinical research for some of the country's top undergraduate, medical and graduate students.

Predoctoral trainees may pursue pediatric psychology and neuropsychology rotations in the St. Jude Department of Psychology. These internships are part of the APA-approved University of Tennessee Professional Psychology Internship Consortium.  

Interns in the Social Work Department work closely with our experienced social workers to provide psychosocial support and counseling to patients and families coping with diagnosis and treatment. During the internship, students gain experience in several major medical service areas including, Leukemia/Lymphoma, Bone Marrow Transplant, Solid Tumor, Brain Tumor, Hematology, HIV, Transition Oncology, and Cancer Survivorship. 

The Strategic Communication, Education and Outreach Department accepts summer interns to focus on projects with exposure to various components of the public relations working environment. Interns will work side-by-side with communications experts and practitioners in a professional environment to gain insight and experience into the inner workings of a health care communications team.

The Emerging Leaders in Biomedical Research Program is a new initiative sponsored by the St. Jude STEMM Education and Outreach Program. This program aims to develop future leaders in biomedical research by providing them with mentored research experiences at St. Jude coupled with intentional leadership training, which include topics such as laboratory management and effective mentorship. Students will then have opportunities to practice these skills alongside their mentor with high school students during the summer months.  

The Information Services internship program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the hospital’s Information Services Department. Interns work side-by-side with experienced information technology professionals and gain insight into the fast-paced world of health care IT. 

The Internal Audit Internship offers a motivated individual an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the Internal Audit department at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Interns will work side-by-side with professionals on projects in a professional environment to gain insight and experience in the world of Internal Audit.

Patient and Family Experience interns will work side-by-side with hospital leaders on projects in a professional environment to gain insight and experience into the world of patient and family experience as well as healthcare administration. This internship is open to undergraduate students. 

The renowned Pediatric Oncology Education (POE) Program offers funded summer internships in laboratory or clinical research for some of the country's top undergraduate, medical and graduate students.

The STEMM Education and Outreach internships are project focused with exposure to various applications of cancer education and outreach. Interns will work under the direction of the St. Jude STEMM Education and Outreach team to facilitate the St. Jude Afterschool STEMM Clubs and Community Health Clubs at select elementary and middle schools in the Memphis area.

The St. Jude Facilities Operation Management High School Internship offers a unique opportunity for rising seniors to participate in a work-based learning experience in partnership with the St. Jude Facilities Operation Management Department.  The purpose of the program is to prepare students for careers in Operations Management by providing hands-on experience in an operations management environment. 

The St. Jude Food Services High School Internship offers a unique opportunity for seniors in the Memphis area to participate in a work-based learning experiences in the St. Jude Food Services Department. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries by providing hands-on experience in a professional food services environment. 

The High School Research Immersion Program offers funded internships for Memphis-area rising seniors in laboratory, psychology, epidemiology, clinical or data science research. A primary goal of the program is to provide access and opportunities to mentored research experiences. 

The Human Resources Internship offers motivated individuals an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the Human Resources department at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
