Benefits of year-end donations
Year-end donations are simply the funds, assets and/or items donated by supporters to qualified nonprofit organizations at the end of the year.
From financial savings to emotional connection, there are multiple benefits to year-end donations:
Spread holiday cheer
One of the most impactful things you can do during this time is give back. Spread the holiday spirit by helping provide lifesaving treatment for the children of St. Jude.
Personal fulfillment
Making a year-end donation to St. Jude means you join a global mission. At St. Jude, we believe that all children should be given the quality care that they deserve. By making a year-end donation, you are giving St. Jude the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
Tax deductions and lowered tax liability
Individuals who itemize deductions on their taxes may be eligible to claim a charitable contribution deduction against their taxable income after making a year-end gift to a qualifying charitable organization like St. Jude.
By lowering an individual’s taxable income, these types of donations can lower the amount of tax owed by the donor, reducing their tax liability.

St. Jude is in the midst of a historic six-year strategic plan to accelerate progress in the laboratory, in the clinic and around the globe. During the first two years, we have celebrated significant strategic plan milestones across the plan's five focus areas:
- Focus on Fundamental Science is the quest to understand normal biology using leading-edge technologies. Fundamental science is the engine that drives most advances in medicine.
- Focus on Childhood Cancer is our commitment to advancing cures for children with cancer. To accelerate progress, we will strive to develop new therapeutic approaches aimed at curing the pediatric cancers considered incurable.
- Focus on Childhood Catastrophic Diseases is a key part of our mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases.
- Focus on Global Impact means spreading the lifesaving mission to children all over the world.
- Focus on People and Place will help St. Jude build a workforce second to none, and put patients at the center of everything we do.
Every child deserves a chance to live their best life and celebrate every moment. Because of supporters like you, we can help give every child that chance.
