About Octavio Ramilo

Dr. Ramilo earned his medical degree from University Complutense in Madrid, Spain, followed by a residency in pediatrics. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases and a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. After two decades at UT Southwestern, he transitioned to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where he was chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases. 

In 2023, Dr. Ramilo joined St. Jude as a Member and chair of the Department of Infectious Diseases. His clinical research interests center on understanding immune development and respiratory infections, and translating system analysis tools into the clinical setting.
