About Dr. Vevea

Jason Vevea received his PhD from Columbia University in the laboratory of Liza Pon, PhD, before pursuing his postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison/HHMI with Ed Chapman, PhD. He joined St. Jude as an Assistant Member in 2022, where he directs a research program focused on understanding the synaptic vesicle cycle, presynaptic origins of neurodegenerative diseases, organelle trafficking and polarity in neurons and organelle quality control in neurons. Dr. Vevea was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Med into Grad fellow during graduate school, a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow and was named a Warren Alpert Distinguished Scholar during his postdoctoral training.
