Payout and fundraising details
For 27 years, the Dick Hiley St. Jude Bass Classic has proven to be about far more than fishing. Driven by a deep commitment to fundraising, the tournament has grown significantly, raising over $8.7 million for the kids of St. Jude since its inception. Fundraising remains the heart of its success.
Fundraising Reminders:
- Each team must raise at least $500 to compete.
- Your Day One launch order is based on your fundraising total.
- Your Day Two launch order:
- Top 10 fundraisers keep their launch position on Day Two.
- Teams 11–100 launch on Day Two based on Day One weight.
- All donations are due by 4:00 PM on Friday, May 1.
- Drop-off available Thursday and Friday in Wabasha (details coming soon).
- Preferably, use Mobile Check Deposit via your fundraising page.
Payout Reminders:
- Over 100% of entry fees will be paid out to the top 20% of teams.
- Teams earning a cash payout are eligible for enhanced bonuses at the $1,500 and $5,000 fundraising milestones.
- $50 from each entry goes to Big Bass—no separate collection at the tournament.

Fundraising is the key to our tournament’s success. Not only does it support the current and future needs of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but it also determines the tournament launch order. Our Day One and Day Two launch orders are determined as follows:
Day One: Team Fundraising Total: the more you fundraise, the earlier your launch spot. The top 10 remains the same for both days, regardless of Day One Weights
Day Two: Day One Weight: Spots 11-100 will launch based on Day One Weight. The top 10 remains the same for both days, regardless of Day One Weights

Any team that raises$5,000 or more will automatically qualify for the giveaway.
Each qualifying team (raising $5,000+) will be entered into a drawing for the Skeeter ZX200, held On Sunday, May 3rd, following the weigh in.
One team will be drawn at random —an amazing way to reward your fundraising efforts and support for the kids of St. Jude.
