About Peijun Ma

Dr. Peijun Ma is an assistant member in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where she leads research that strives to uncover the role of bacterial heterogeneity in the evolution of antibiotic resistance and persistence. Her research program builds on her previous postdoctoral research work that developed bacterial single-cell RNA sequencing technology to investigate the evolution of antibiotic resistance in gram-negative bacterial pathogens. Her goal is to discover novel insights in bacterial heterogeneity and identify drug targets for treating bacterial infections associated with antibiotic resistance and persistence.
