Photography by Biomedical Communications, December 3, 2016

On Saturday, December 3, nearly 23,000 participants and 40,000 spectators from across the U.S. gathered together to celebrate 15 years and running of the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The weekend consisted of a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Marathon.

The biggest winners of this year’s marathon are the patients and families of St. Jude. Over the last 15 years, participants running as St. Jude Heroes have joined the fight against childhood cancer and raised more than $60 million to support the St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® This year, St. Jude Heroes raised $10 million. This event would not be possible without the support of many, including presenting sponsor Juice Plus+®, Memphis Runners Track Club, YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau, Landers Ford, official training partner Breakaway Running and national St. Jude Heroes coach Kevin Leathers, among others.
