The annual Teen Formal at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital featured an enchanted evening of fun and revelry for patients, siblings and their guests.
To kick off the day’s activities, the teens received salon treatment inside the hospital’s Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion. Girls had their hair, make-up, and nails done while the boys donned tuxedos. Employees and volunteers lined the red carpet to the event as the teens arrived in limousines.
The theme for this year’s event was 2018 Teen Formal at the Enchanted Garden. Attendees enjoyed food, music, dancing and spending time with their peers.
Coordinated by the St. Jude Child Life Program, the Teen Formal is one of several annual events that provide patients with a sense of normalcy in their lives. Many patients miss important milestones that occur at home during their treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
