McLean Williamson began his career with St. Jude as a research technician in the lab of Michael Dyer, PhD, Developmental Neurobiology chair. Williamson’s work inspired him to apply to the St. Jude Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Williamson earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2018 from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. He is interested in non-cell-autonomous signals that are needed for development of hematopoietic stem cells.

Williamson currently works in the lab of Wilson Clements, PhD, Hematology.

“The seamless integration of basic science researchers, translational teams and medical doctors in one institution is what makes St. Jude unique,” he says. “My experience here has shown me firsthand that the facilities are among the best, and the research taking place here is groundbreaking.”
