Sharing the mission of St. Jude with the world
St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Applications for the 2020–2021 Phi Delta Chi Shadow Day are open November 9–23. Apply today to experience this exclusive opportunity!
Historically, the St. Jude Phi Delta Chi Shadow Day has served as an opportunity for the top fundraising chapter to send a member to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to shadow the pharmacy department for one day. This year may look a little different, but as an attendee, you will receive exclusive access with your fellow brothers to:
- Hear a St. Jude patient share their story
- Get a behind-the-scenes look at the St. Jude pharmacy
- Take part in a live Q&A with a St. Jude pharmacist
- and more
Please note: Shadow Day had to be postponed from June due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. Shadow Day will now stream live via Zoom in January 2021. The official date and time for this virtual event is coming soon!
In years past, only one member has been selected. This year, we are opening up availability for 10 members to be selected.
Share this Save the Date graphic with your Phi Delta Chi brothers and encourage them to apply Nov. 9–23.

25 years of brotherhood in service of St. Jude
The mission of Phi Delta Chi goes hand-in-hand with the mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.®
In August 1995, Phi Delta Chi adopted St. Jude as its national philanthropic partner at the 60th Grand Council meeting in Memphis, Tennessee, where St. Jude is located.
By the summer of 2009, Phi Delta Chi completed its first naming opportunity for the naming of the Outpatient Pharmacy by raising more than $200,000.
In 2010, the Phi Delta Chi Executive Council pledged to raise $1 million towards the naming of an inpatient room with an adjoining parent room in the Patient Care Center by 2020. By fall 2016, Phi Delta Chi reached its $1 million commitment — four years early.
In August 2017, Phi Delta Chi pledged to raise $1 million over seven years to name the Radiation Oncology Recovery Suite in the Chili's Care Center.
Phi Delta Chi and St. Jude celebrated 25 years of partnership in August 2020. As of July 2020, PDC brothers have raised more than $1.7 million since 1995 and are currently on track to reach their existing commitment early. Members of Phi Delta Chi have proven that together, nothing is impossible.
