CBS Sports

and St. Jude

CBS Sports has joined forces with St. Jude to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The cast of THE NFL TODAY, including James Brown, Bill Cowher, Tony Gonzalez, Bart Scott and Boomer Esiason, visited the St. Jude campus to meet patients and their families, and learn more about the research and treatment being done at the hospital. THE NFL TODAY team also hosted fun football-themed activities with the patients.

To kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, CBS Sports shined a spotlight on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with PSAs featuring James Brown and Bill Cowher, and all CBS game and studio announcers wore St. Jude lapel pins and ties to remind viewers of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

CBS Sports’ involvement with St. Jude was highlighted by visits to the St. Jude campus with the University of Memphis football team and the cast of THE NFL TODAY.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. We won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
