The fundraising efforts of Sigma Gamma Rho and the NPHC leads help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.

In October 2023, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. completed a historic pledge to raise $1 million for St. Jude. This achievement was met before the international collegiate and nonprofit community service organization’s 101^st anniversary, marking over a century of commitment to helping those in need.

With this achievement, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. became the first Divine Nine sorority to raise $1 million for St. Jude.

Members, affiliates and friends from across the country are invited to join Sigma Gamma Rho in the fight against pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease by raising money through programs like the St. Jude Walk and St. Jude Leadership Society, as well as contributions from individual members and local chapters.

In September of 2024, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. unveiled a historic pledge to raise $2 million for St. Jude by 2028. This new commitment comes just a year after Sigma Gamma Rho became the first NPHC sorority to pledge and successfully donate $1 million to advance work by St. Jude to raise survival rates for children with diseases such as cancer and sickle cell disease.

This announcement followed the sorority’s 60^th International Biennial Boule in Houston where Sigma Gamma Rho elected its new International President, Marica T. Harris. With over 25 years of experience across women's empowerment, youth development, political advocacy and leadership development, Harris will lead the organization and its fundraising efforts for St. Jude.
