ALSAC is the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. ALSAC is responsible for soliciting and accepting gifts to St. Jude to help the organization fulfill its mission.
ALSAC encourages donors to give freely through the variety of giving channels and vehicles described in this policy. ALSAC endeavors to help donors to pursue their desire to give by providing the guidelines herein, acknowledging that there are some circumstances that prevent ALSAC from accepting certain gifts.
The Mission of St. Jude
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
Soliciting Gifts
ALSAC, a fully tax-exempt non-profit (501c3) organized under the laws of the State of Tennessee, encourages the solicitation and acceptance of gifts for purposes that will help the organization fulfill its mission to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

Fundraising Standards and Values
ALSAC rigorously adheres to integrity as a core value, which guides it in its pursuit of the organization’s mission. In considering whether to solicit or accept gifts, ALSAC holds the following standards as an intrinsic part of its fundraising efforts.
ALSAC will not accept gifts that involve discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or any other basis prohibited by law. Nor will ALSAC accept gifts that are overly restrictive of the ability for the organization to use them in support of its mission.
Donor privacy is handled with the utmost care by ALSAC. For information regarding our Privacy Policy, please see our Privacy Policy Statement.
Gift Acceptance
ALSAC St. Jude will seek gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations that enable support of its mission.
In instances where gifts are proposed that are inherently more complex and rely on closely reviewed decision-making processes, the acceptance of such gifts will only be made after ALSAC’s Gift Acceptance Committee (GAC) has reviewed all interrelated aspects and qualifying circumstances. The GAC is responsible for making these decisions collaboratively and collectively as a unified regulatory body, acting in the best interests of ALSAC St. Jude and its donors.
In some cases, there are circumstances or conditions that will prevent ALSAC St. Jude from accepting a gift. ALSAC St. Jude will not accept a gift if doing so would be contrary to the vision, mission, and values of the organization or when accepting a donation carries undue risk or financial burden or contains terms that are illegal or in any way contravene federal or state laws.
In addition, while interest in giving is always appreciated, ALSAC St. Jude is unable to accept gifts of cemetery plots or timeshares.
