What is the St. Jude Give To Live Society?

The St. Jude Give To Live Society (GTLS) is a group of loyal donors who consistently give charitable gifts throughout the year at truly impactful levels. As a committed donor, your giving helps ensure our lifesaving mission to find cures and provide world-class care for some of the world’s sickest children — today and in the future.

Like other giving societies, the GTLS focuses on cumulative giving. There are fundraising-giving levels for benefactors who contribute recurring gifts, and each membership level has benefits. The 2025 GTLS Impact Report can give you a sense of what St. Jude can accomplish with your support, from new breakthroughs to improved care.

Qualifications for the Give To Live Society

The GTLS is open to all supporters who give annual cumulative contributions totaling $2,500 or more. If you reach the $2,500 threshold with the sum of your annual gifts, you will automatically become a member of the GTLS based on your annual giving from January 1 through December 31.

When you join the GTLS, you’ll be added to one of our donor-giving levels. Each donor level helps us save lives. By joining the GLTS, you will receive exclusive incentives at each benefit level as a token of appreciation. And you may find that the true reward of your society membership comes from knowing that donors like you are furthering the St. Jude mission and helping save children everywhere.

Qualifying gifts

Qualifying gifts for our donor society members include:

Donate single gift of $2,500+
Cumulative giving of $2,500+ on a 12-month, calendar year basis
Tax-deductible portion of all donations
Gifts from IRA (Individual Retirement Accounts)
Gifts from a donor-advised fund
Gifts of stock
Charitable gift annuity (charitable portion only)
Monthly Partner in Hope gifts
Corporate matching gifts (donation + employer match)

Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from generous donors, we have the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.

For every donor-giving level included in the GTLS, you can see the impact of your generosity.

Giving $2,500 or more this year as a Discovery Circle member could cover the cost of one week of oxygen for a St. Jude patient.

During treatment, St. Jude patients may need oxygen to help their bodies function properly and aid in healing.

Giving $5,000 or more this year as a Beacon Circle* member could support the cost of the daily room rate of the intensive care unit (ICU).

The ICU at St. Jude has been recognized twice with the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence given by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In 2009, the St. Jude ICU became Tennessee’s first ICU to win the honor.

Giving $10,000 or more this year as an Innovation Circle member could help provide one CT scan for a St. Jude patient.

Doctors use CT scans to see inside the body. The scan gives them more information than a regular X-ray. A CT scan provides parents with much needed answers about their child's health.

Giving $15,000 or more this year as a Visionary Circle member could help cover 3 courses of proton therapy for a brain tumor patient.

Proton therapy lets doctors aim high-dose radiation at cancer cells and spare healthy cells. It is one of the most advanced and precise forms of radiation treatment today.

Giving $25,000 or more this year as a Catalyst Circle member could help cover the cost of 2 days of inpatient care.

While most of our patients are treated as outpatients, the hospital has 77 beds for patients requiring hospitalization during treatment.

When you make a donation using this information, your donation will be used to provide breakthrough research, treatment and cures. Items listed here are representative of services and supplies that are part of the treatment and care of children at St. Jude. The cost of each item or service is an approximation, and will vary based on actual costs incurred and individual patient needs. Your donation will be used for the general operating needs of St. Jude, where no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food.

Beacon Circle (annual giving $5,000 - $9,999)

- Full-Size St. Jude Calendar mailed in September
- By Invitation-Only Events - Be part of a select audience for special
  virtual and/or in-person events.
Innovation Circle (annual giving $10,000 - $14,999)
- All above benefits, plus:
- An Exclusive Give To Live Society Gift - A token of gratitude
  especially for you from the children of St. Jude.
Visionary Circle (annual giving $15,000 - $24,999)
- All above benefits, plus:
- Virtual Hospital Experience - A unique virtual experience that
  brings you behind the scenes of the world-renowned institution
  that is St. Jude.
Catalyst Circle (annual giving $25,000 and up)
- All above benefits, plus:
- St. Jude Give To Live Society Insider News - Be the first to know
  about groundbreaking discoveries made at St. Jude.
- Exclusive Invitation-Only Webinars - Personal invitations to
  virtual sessions hosted by various ALSAC Senior Executives,
  including exclusive access to St. Jude doctors and researchers as
  they discuss cutting-edge treatments being developed at St. Jude.
Give To Live Society membership qualifications

The Give To Live Society is open to all individuals, in recognition and appreciation of your total annual giving to St. Jude.

Supporters who give cumulative contributions totaling $2,500 or more will automatically become members of GTLS. We deeply appreciate every contribution for the children of St. Jude.

How new Give To Live Society members are welcomed

As a new member of the society, you will receive a welcome packet in the mail, typically arriving around the 15th of the month once you have reached $2,500 or more in annual giving.

Give To Live Society membership renewal process

Your GTLS membership renews automatically once you have reached $2,500 or more in contributions during each new calendar year. Your membership will continue through December 31 of the following calendar year.

For example, if your contributions to St. Jude in 2024 total $2,500 or more in July of that same year, your membership in the GTLS will run through December 31, 2025.
What is the difference between the Give To Live Society and the Danny Thomas St. Jude Society? Can I be a member of both?

The Danny Thomas St. Jude Society recognizes donors who have included St. Jude in their will or other estate plans. For more information on including St. Jude in your will, please visit our Charitable Bequests page or call (800) 395-1087.

You can be a member of both donor-membership programs: GTLS and the Danny Thomas St. Jude Society. We are so grateful for all the ways you support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.

If I give monthly as a Partner in Hope, can I still be a member of the Give To Live Society?

You can become a Partner in Hope with a monthly donation to St. Jude. Your gifts qualify toward membership in the GTLS, but Partner in Hope members still need to hit the $2,500 annual donation threshold to qualify for GTLS.

Does a paddle raise at a Give To Live Society, dinner, or gala event count toward my Give To Live Society total donation?

All donations during the Give To Live portion of an event will count toward membership in the GTLS.
There are certain types of donation to St. Jude that are not eligible:
- Corporate gifts
- Any gifts given to St. Jude on your behalf: For example, if you are a St. Jude Hero, pledges you collect from your friends on your behalf will not qualify; however, your own personal donation qualifies
- Dream Home and raffle ticket purchases
- Bequest gifts/intentions
