Children with childhood cancers and other catastrophic diseases in the Global Public Health Agenda – a call to action.

Lecture date: September 3, 2026

Bente Mikkelsen, MD, MHA

Director Global Engagement Strategies
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Global public health shapes incentives, priorities and visibility. At global, regional and country level it determines what becomes visible, measurable and fundable. Much of today’s health architecture remains organised around disease‑specific silos that no longer reflect the challenges children face. The lecture will focus on the opportunity for change through research and innovation, policy development, engagement strategies and partnership and advocacy.
