The Information Services Internship Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital offers motivated undergraduate students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare IT environment. Interns will collaborate with experienced IT professionals on meaningful projects that support the hospital’s mission, while developing technical and professional skills.
Location: All internships are based on-site in Memphis, TN.
Program Dates: Monday, June 1, 2026 – Friday, August 7, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday during standard business hours (8AM – 5PM)
Compensation: Interns will receive a stipend. Housing, food, and transportation are the responsibility of the intern.
Program Highlights
- Project-Based Work: Interns will be assigned to specific projects aligned with departmental goals and institutional strategy.
- Capstone Presentation: The program concludes with a formal presentation to senior IT leadership.
- Professional Development: Interns will participate in executive-led training sessions, hospital tours, and networking events.
- Mentorship: Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor for guidance and support throughout the program.
Learning Opportunities
Interns will gain exposure to a wide range of IT functions and initiatives, including:
- Brainstorming and developing innovative solutions to enhance IT services for hospital staff and patient care.
- Participating in executive-led training sessions on key IT topics.
- Collaborating on projects that align with the hospital’s strategic direction.
- Building relationships with professionals across departments.
- Engaging in enrichment activities such as hospital tours and networking events.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program and entering sophomore, junior, or senior year.
- All majors are welcome; preference is given to students pursuing a major or minor in computer science or related IT fields.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. GPA will be verified through transcripts and advisor communication.
- Any exceptions must be approved by the VP of Academic Programs.

As of September 10, 2021, St. Jude requires all employees, contractors, and interns to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical or religious exemption has been approved. Proof of vaccination is required.

Virtual interviews will be conducted in Late November/Early December 2025 and offers will be extended in December. All applicants will be notified of their status by the end of December 2025.
