Thank you for joining us for St. Jude Presents: The Dash to End Childhood Cancer on April 26, 2023. Together, we celebrated our local NFL alumni who have taken up the fight against childhood cancer by running the 40-yard dash to raise awareness and funds through Rich Eisen’s Run Rich Run initiative. Sports have always provided hope during the toughest of times. In partnership with the NFL Players Association, PLAY 60 and Run Rich Run, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to lead the way in which the world understands and treats pediatric cancer through our mission of finding cures and saving children.

In 2013, Rich Eisen came up with the idea to run a 40-yard dash to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Today, that idea has raised over $4 million for the kids of St. Jude and captured the attention and participation of former athletes, celebrities and fans across the country.

For more information on partnerships or on how to get involved in next year's event, contact Crysta Moon at (816) 868-2735 or crysta.moon@alsac.stjude.org.

Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped raise the survival rate for children with cancer in the United States, where 4 out of 5 children survive cancer.

In many countries, however, only 1 out of 5 children who develop cancer will survive. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer, no matter where they live.

St. Jude stories from the area

Every dollar makes a difference*

  1. One red blood cell transfusion

Children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening diseases often need transfusions.

    Donate $250

  2. One hour of physical therapy

Physical therapy is provided to patients because children with life-threatening diseases like cancer may develop developmental, cognitive or physical impairments as a result of their illnesses and their treatments.

    Donate $500

  3. Parent necessities for 20 patient families

Parents who bring their children to St. Jude often leave home in a hurry and forget to pack day-to-day necessities such as shampoos, razors, deodorant, toothbrushes and lotion. At Tri Delta Place, our short-term housing facility, parents can obtain these essentials free of charge.

    Donate $1,000

  4. An ultrasound study for a St. Jude patient

An ultrasound study is among the diagnostic imaging tests that doctors use to diagnose and monitor disease and treatment.

    Donate $2,500

The Intensive Care Unit at St. Jude has twice been recognized with the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence given by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In 2009, the St. Jude ICU became Tennessee’s first ICU to win the honor.
