ST. LOUIS GIVES

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) is an opportunity for us to come together in the fight against childhood cancer. Together, St. Louis can make a big impact and St. Jude is inviting you to be a part of our first-ever CCAM efforts!

Locally, CCAM offers three unique ways to engage the community in the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.®

  • The Saints Gala on August 28, 2021 at Busch Stadium is where we will roll out the red carpet to kick off CCAM for St. Louis and Missouri. Limited sponsorships remaining — don’t miss your chance to be part of the inaugural Gala!
  • The St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer on September 25, 2021 at Ballpark Village will be the concluding event as we celebrate the philanthropic spirit of St. Louis.  Register your family or corporate team today!
  • Our Mission Experience will bring the magic of St. Jude to St. Louis. This unique experience will be unveiled at The Saints Gala, and then displayed in locations citywide during September — allowing our community to enjoy a glimpse into the mission of St. Jude

Meet Victoria

“Victoria’s an old soul,” said her mom, Damary. Victoria had undergone two brain surgeries by the time she was 9 years old, and was expected to lose 50% of her eyesight. When her treatment started at St. Jude, she received high-dose radiation treatments at the world's first proton therapy center solely for children.

Meet Aleksandra

“With all the challenges our patients endure, the Teen Art Show provides them with an opportunity to showcase a part of them that is not ‘just a cancer patient,’” said Amanda Brody, one of the Child Life specialists who helps coordinate the event. “I am always incredibly proud when they turn in a piece of artwork and share the story about how and why they created it.”

After Brinley was referred to St. Jude, her care team went to work, creating an innovative strategy tailored specifically to her needs. “They really worked together in optimizing what was the best for her,” Brinley’s mom said.

When you support St. Jude, you’re supporting the research hospital that has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80%. And we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. Today, this energetic young girl is finished with treatment and dreams of becoming a children’s doctor.
