Once the St. Jude Classic

In 1970, St. Jude founder Danny Thomas partnered with local leaders to make St. Jude Children's Research Hospital the designated charity of the golf tournament. In 1986, FedEx became the title sponsor. In 2019, the name changed to World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. The invitational has taken place at TPC Southwind since 1989.
