NMDPD: Protocol for a Research Database for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Other Cellular Therapies and Marrow Toxic Injuries

National Marrow Donor Program: A research Database for Allogeneic Unrelated Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Category:

Supportive Bone Marrow Transplant Studies

Eligibility Overview:

This is a non-therapeutic clinical trial that is only open to St. Jude patients.

Description

The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) is a network of Donor Centers, Cord Blood Banks, Apheresis Centers, Collection Centers and Transplant Centers throughout the United States and several international countries. These groups work together to provide “Hematopoietic Stem Cells” (HSC) to patients eligible for an unrelated stem cell transplant.

The purpose of this study is to collect information from the medical records of patients receiving an unrelated transplant. The NMDPs database contains information like age, race, sex, quality of life, and medical information about unrelated donor stem cell transplant recipients. Information in this research database may be helpful towards improving the results of future patients receiving transplants.

Objectives

  • The purpose of the database is to have a complete and single source of information that can be used to study unrelated donor HSC transplants. This information may be used for other studies in the future that examine unrelated donor HSC transplants and how it affects both the people who donate and the person who receives the transplant.

Eligibility

  • Any person whose hematopoietic stem cell transplant is facilitated by NMDP.
  • Only St. Jude patients accepted for unrelated transplant are eligible.
