Surgery Team

Children who come to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for pediatric cancer surgery benefit from a team of experts in general surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, urology and other specialties.

Anesthesiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, social workers, child life specialists and others work with the surgery team to give children with cancer the best outcomes possible. Together, we support you and your child through cancer diagnosis and treatment.

    Research Interests

    • Developing new strategies to treat pediatric solid tumors, with a focus on neuroblastoma, using angiogenesis inhibition and gene therapy
    • Investigating gene therapy-mediated delivery of angiogenesis inhibitors for long-term cancer treatment in pediatric tumor models
    • Advancing gene transfer approaches for monogenetic disorders, particularly hemophilia, using adeno-associated virus vectors
    • Conducting preclinical and clinical studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of gene therapy interventions
