The St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children is north Alabama’s first pediatric cancer care and hematology clinic.

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children (HHWC) was established in 2007 and is one of three dedicated children’s hospitals in Alabama. HHWC offers comprehensive pediatric health care services and the only Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) and Pediatric Emergency Room in northern Alabama. Huntsville’s pediatric program has been recognized as one of the Top 50 in the nation. It is one of only eight St. Jude affiliate clinics nationwide and is a service of Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children; it is supported by the most advanced pediatric health care services in north Alabama and south central Tennessee.

The HHWC has 45 beds for general pediatrics and an 11 bed PICU. The pediatric hematology/oncology patients will be hospitalized in the PICU to utilize the heap-filter system.

About Huntsville Hospital

Huntsville Hospital provides healthcare to the people in north Alabama and southern Tennessee. The hospital is one of the largest locally owned not-for-profit hospitals in the nation with 881 licensed acute care beds and a medical staff of nearly 630 highly trained physicians who are supported by 5,600 hospital employees, including nearly 2,000 nurses. The Huntsville campus facilities include Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, an outpatient Medical Mall, Madison Medical Park and a 70-bed rehabilitation hospital.

Huntsville Hospital is a teaching facility for the University of Alabama-Birmingham’s School of Medicine and Family Practice Residency Program. In addition, the hospital serves as a primary site for more than 50 national drug research projects.

The hospital does not belong to a larger health system; it belongs to the community and is governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville, a nine member volunteer board.

About the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children

St. Jude partners with the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. The Children’s Center has 40 pediatric bed with 35 private inpatient rooms and five rooms that are able to be converted into private rooms. There are also 10 Pediatric Intensive Care beds; the average daily census is approximately 25 patients. The Children’s Hospital offers the following subspecialties:
