St. Jude has been treating children with histiocytosis for nearly 50 years. The histiocytosis treatment team includes specialists in oncology, infectious diseases, critical care and bone marrow transplant. These experts work together to craft a unique treatment approach for each child.
Support for Patients and Families
Our team of experts is here to help along every step of the way. We can:
- Teach patients and their families about histiocytic disorders
- Craft a treatment plan that takes each child’s unique needs into account
- Offer opportunities for families to take part in research
- Provide support services for patients and their families
- Connect families to other families facing a similar diagnosis
- Explain and coordinate genetic testing or other special tests
- Review and talk with families about the test results
- Talk with families about whether other relatives are at risk, including future children
