Parent to Parent Events

Parent to Parent events are programs where our parent advisers have an opportunity to interact with the current families of St. Jude. If you are interest in being a part of a parent to parent event, follow these easy steps:

  1. Read the manual for the program you would like to participate in and review the resources section of this page. If you have any questions while reading, be sure to ask us!
  2. Email PFCC@stjude.org and let us know you are interested in volunteering at a parent to parent event. We will check when the next event is, let you know if we need additional volunteers, and complete any additional training.
  3. Check the PFCC alert for our request for help at these events.

Learn more about our different parent to parent events by reading below.

  1. Recruitment Table

Recruitment Table, or information table, is an event hosted by parent advisers for the families and staff of St. Jude. Advisers will host a table that features information about Patient Family-Centered Care and giveaways. The table is a chance to let St. Jude families know how they can be involved and it also raises awareness with staff about Patient Family-Centered Care.

  2. Family Talk

At Family Talk, parent advisers meet with other St. Jude caregivers for coffee and conversation. Family Talk is an informal event and open to all St. Jude families, both inpatient and outpatient. The event is an excellent way for St. Jude parents to build connections, express ideas and concerns, and enjoy the company of other parents. Family Talk gives parents an outlet to meet other families, share their experiences, and build special bonds.

  3. St. Jude 101

St. Jude 101 is a chance for our parent advisers to welcome the newest St. Jude families who want to learn more about support and services offered at St. Jude. Advisers can provide information caregivers need to help them feel more comfortable at the hospital through conversation and information documents. St. Jude 101 sessions are held in the inpatient and outpatient areas.
