All restrooms in patient care areas have changing tables.
A changing table for older teens and adults is in the family restroom in the hallway between the Chili’s Care Center lobby and the Marlo Thomas Center, just past the Registration desk. This changing table includes a safety rail and can support up to 440 pounds. You can adjust the table height using the remote control. Another adult changing table is in Family Commons.

Playrooms for all age groups are available to patients and families in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Music therapists also meet with patients for pre-scheduled appointments in the music therapy room on a 1:1 basis.

Family Commons is a treatment-free zone open only to patients and families. It offers areas ranging from quiet nooks to lively playgrounds. You can get haircuts, paint pictures, take naps, attend classes, get short-term childcare, or grab snacks.
Family Commons is home to the Linda R. Hajar Family Resource Center, where families can use computers and take care of personal business needs. The Imagine Academy by Chili’s, Studio 262 Music Room, Housing and Patient Services, and a sacred space are also located in Family Commons.

The hospital gift shop sells toys, stationery, candy, gifts, and personal care items.
The ALSAC gift shop sells St. Jude branded merchandise such as logo apparel, home décor, drinkware, stationery, and accessories.

Patients get chemotherapy (cancer-fighting drugs), blood products, and other medicines in the Infusion Center on an outpatient basis.
Please check in 1 hour before your appointment time. The time between your clinic visit and the Infusion Center visit will be 90–120 minutes. This allows time for staff to prepare medicines or blood products and to do safety checks.

Patients who stay in Tri Delta Place, The Domino’s Village, or Target House can have certain lab samples collected in lab draw stations. This can reduce the time you spend traveling to campus and waiting in the clinic.

St. Jude cannot be responsible for personal items that are lost or stolen. The hospital’s housing facilities have in-room safes where you can keep valuables. Even so, please avoid bringing valuables from home, such as jewelry or large amounts of cash.

A luggage checkroom is in the Patient Care Center (PCC) 1st floor lobby. The security officer at the information desk has a key to the luggage room. This is a temporary daily holding area for luggage and is not for long-term storage.
The St. Jude Lounge in the Memphis International Airport is open only to St. Jude patients and families traveling for St. Jude appointments.
The lounge features a play area, kitchen area, a quiet room, restrooms, and tables and chairs. Your family can enjoy beverages, light snacks, toys, books, games, and TVs.

Go to the Outpatient Pharmacy to pick up medicines prescribed by your St. Jude doctor.
Pharmacists can explain how your medicines work, including antibiotics, pain medicines, and chemotherapy drugs.
Delivery service for prescriptions is available. Ask your pharmacist for more information.
The Outpatient Pharmacy delivers medicines to a kiosk in The Domino’s Village lobby 2 times a day during the week, and 1 time a day in the afternoon on weekends and holidays. Talk with your pharmacist about having your medicines delivered to the kiosk.

The Parent Exercise Room inside the hospital is open to people 18 and older. Teens 13 and older can use the room only with a parent or guardian.

New patients check in for their first day at Patient Registration in the Patient Care Center (PCC). Hematology and ID patients check in at 3PCC. After that day, you can go straight to the location of your first appointment.
On your first visit to the hospital, a staff member will begin your child’s medical chart. Please bring your Social Security numbers, insurance details, and other important legal documents such as custody paperwork.
If you have changes in your phone number, address, insurance, emergency contacts, or other important details, please call Patient Registration right away.

Pre-Clinic Assessment prepares your child for their outpatient clinic visit. In Pre-Clinic Assessment, a nurse will check your child’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight. In many cases, the nurse will take blood samples.

Patients go to this area for many types of procedures, including bone marrow biopsies or aspirates, lumbar punctures, and wound care. Sometimes children need anesthesia for tests or procedures. If so, you may stay with your child until they go to sleep.
When possible, you will be allowed into the recovery room within 30 minutes of your child’s arrival.
After the anesthesia doctor says it is OK, your child will be ready for discharge. Your child’s nurse will let you know how to care for your child afterward.

Patients who need anesthesia for radiation treatments recover in this area. At least 1 caregiver must remain in the Radiation Oncology waiting room while the patient is asleep.
Staff will let you know when your child arrives in the recovery room. When possible, you will be allowed into the recovery room within 30 minutes of your child’s arrival.

Your child might have tests or procedures in Radiology, including:
A child who gets anesthesia goes to the Radiology Recovery Area after the test or procedure.
Staff will let you know when your child arrives in the recovery room. When possible, you will be allowed into the recovery room within 30 minutes of your child’s arrival.

The St. Jude Imagine Academy by Chili’s helps patients keep learning during treatment. Our teachers and school support staff help students from preschool through college stay connected to school. We provide education services, help students return to school, and advocate for their learning needs.
