• Work with insurance: They talk to your insurance company to get approvals (called prior authorizations) for your medicines.
• Find financial help: If your medicines are not fully covered or cost too much, the pharmacy reimbursement specialist can help find savings programs such as copay cards, grants, or patient-assistance programs.
• Explain costs clearly: They help you understand your insurance benefits, help you read your insurance card, understand what you might have to pay, and get ready for the steps you need to take next.
• Work with your care team: They stay in touch with your pharmacists, clinic providers, social workers, and case managers to make sure everything goes smoothly.
