For 14 years, horses and riders have gathered near Pontotoc, Mississippi, in November for a trail ride benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of the Saddle Up for St. Jude fundraising program. Founded by J.D. Brown and David Hall, the ride was named the J.D. Brown Memorial Trail Ride for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital after Brown passed away in 2010. The event includes a trail ride, a hay ride for those not in the saddle, a lunch and a live auction. More than 200 people took part in the 2014 ride, which raised more than $16,700 for the kids of St. Jude.
