Target Corporation

For more than a decade, Target has supported St. Jude Children Research’s Hospital's mission of finding cures and saving children. Target’s remarkable dedication to the kids of St. Jude began in 1996 with the company’s commitment to build the St. Jude Target House, the hospital’s long-term residential facility designed as a home-away-from-home for patients and their families.

In addition to the Target House and annual participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign, Target continues to find meaningful and innovative ways to help St. Jude. The St. Jude Target House has hosted more than 4,500 families from 44 states and 38 countries as part of the hospital’s network of patient support in covering all medical costs, transportation, lodging and meals for each patient and a family member. Target has leveraged vendor relationships to help fund multiple areas within the Target House.

In 2010, Target helped with the renovation of specially-designed classrooms for St. Jude kids. The accredited St. Jude School Program Presented by Target continues patients’ educational growth while they receive treatment.

Also in 2010, a supplemental Facebook campaign was launched during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, garnering an additional $50,000 during the same week.

In 2011, Procter and Gamble sponsored the renovation of the Family Gathering Room at the St Jude Target House. And in 2011 and 2012, Target continued to raise money by donating 100 percent of the purchase price of a limited-edition Holiday Bullseye plush to St. Jude.

Target also participated in a Pinterest campaign with US Weekly – the first of its kind for both US Weekly and St. Jude. Photos of celebrities with Bullseye were pinned more than 45,000 times – US Weekly’s most pinned item ever.

Target also coordinates multiple special events every year, including festive quarterly carnivals that bring joy to St. Jude patients and families.

St. Jude is grateful for Target’s ongoing dedication and support for the medical research and breakthroughs helping children all over the world.
